Fire Incident at Bodija Plank Market, Man O’ War Sympathises with Traders, Urges Fire Safety

The Commander of Man O’ War in Oyo state, Alhaji Yekeen Lukman has sympathised with traders for their loss in a fire incident wich ravaged the popular Bodija plank market in Oyo state. The inferno, which occurred on Tuesday, 26th of April 2023, resulted in damages to the market and loss of goods worth millions of Naira.

The State Commander appreciated the prompt response of emergency services in the state and the state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde who has personally visited the market. Alhaji Yekeen Lukman also commiserated with Hon. Shuaib Oladayo, the Local Government Chairman of Ibadan-North Local Government in whose domain the market is situated.

The traders and other market users are enjoined to always take fire safety precautions, such as switching off their electrical appliances before leaving for the day, avoid refuse burning and storing of flammable liquids such as petrol in their shops.

It's a chance to highlight the importance of menstrual care, and raise awareness about the issues faced by those who don't have access to sanitary products.
