Oyo State Government Commits to Unwavering Support of Man O' War in the State

The Oyo State Government has committed to unwavering support of the Man O' War organization in the state. This was made known by the State Governor, Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde on Saturday the 7th of October 2023 at the finals of the maiden edition of the annual sports fiesta of the Man O' War organization in Oyo state.

Hon. Adegoke being welcomed by the State Commander 

The governor, who was represented at the occasion by the Honorable Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Wasilat Adegoke, commended the Man O' War organization for its role in promoting discipline, patriotism, and physical fitness among young people. Noting that Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde has been sponsoring hundreds of members of the organisation to various Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre courses even before becoming the Governor, assured the organization of the state government’s continued support in its efforts to develop the skills and talents of young people in the state.

The victorious Oyo Zone in a joyous mood

The maiden sports fiesta of the state command, which was named "Engr. Seyi Makinde Sports Fiesta 2023," featured a variety of sporting events, including football, relay races, and sprints. The Honorable Commissioner was also decorated as Chief War Marshall of the organization in the state by the emeritus Chief Judge of Oyo state, Hon. (Mrs.) Adeniji Bolajoko.

Some of the highlights of the event included the electrifying final football match between Oyo and Ogbomoso zones, where Oyo zone emerged victorious. Other highlights included the finals of the relay race, 100m, 200m, and 400m dashes, as well as the presentation of awards to distinguished personalities in the society and prizes to the winners of the various sporting events.

Important dignitaries present at the event included the National Commander of Man O' War Nigeria, Col. Sani Adamu, who was ably represented by the Regional Commander (South-West), ANC Ayoade Adeoye, the Regional Secretary (South-West), Deputy Chief of Staff to the National Commander, State Commanders, and other too numerous to mention.

The maiden edition of the Engr. Seyi Makinde Sports Fiesta 2023 was a resounding success, and it is hoped that the event will become an annual tradition in the state. The Oyo State Government's unwavering support of the Man O' War organization is a testament to its commitment to the development of young people in the state.

PAD UP: MAN O' WAR OYO STATE COMMAND (FEMALE UNIT) CELEBRATES MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY 2022 Menstrual Hygiene Day takes place on 28 May every year. It's a chance to highlight the importance of menstrual care, and raise awareness about the issues faced by those who don't have access to sanitary products. Voluntary organisations, Nonprofits government agencies, the private sector, the media, and individuals come together to celebrate Menstrual Hygiene Day and advocate for the importance of good menstrual hygiene management.
